Zeel Thakkar joined WordCamp Asia 2026 as a stellar contributor and WordPress community builder.

Losing Zeel was a big setback to the entire organising team, and to honor her memory, we are launching the Zeel Thakkar Memorial Scholarship.

This is a fully funded opportunity for women in India and Nepal to attend WordCamp Asia 2026 in Mumbai (April 9–11).

What the Scholarship Covers

Each recipient will receive:

1) A free WordCamp Asia 2026 ticket
2) Reimbursement support for travel and accommodation for the duration of the conference

No out-of-pocket costs. You just show up and participate.

This scholarship is open to women from India and Nepal who are passionate about WordPress, open source, or web development.

We will prioritise folks who have not attended a flagship WordCamp (WordCamp Asia/ US/ EU) previously.

WordCamp Asia is a great way to start your WordPress journey. It can be career-defining.

If you've been curious but never had the opportunity, this scholarship is for you.
